A software engineer’s view into how contemporary hardware operates and what does that mean for network and infrastructure layers, as seen in the context of machine learning hype. Fabrics, in particular non-IP fabrics, routing of address space (no, not IP address space, the real address space), Infiniband and custom transports, feeding accelerators with data and what does that mean for the networking part of the system, and how software could and does abuse the potential of underlying hardware.
